The project transforms a modest, low-profile residence originally built in the 1920s into a more spacious and functional home suited to contemporary living. The original house occupied only a small portion of the generous lot, which had remained largely undeveloped with minimal landscape design. Rather than demolishing the entire structure, the design preserves selected elements of the existing home, including the foundation and portions of the exterior walls, while completely removing the original roof to create greater ceiling heights. Interior walls are removed and reconfigured to establish a new spatial layout, seamlessly integrating the existing structure with the expanded portions of the house. The result is a thoughtfully reimagined home that respects its architectural origins while embracing modern lifestyles, improved spatial flow, and a more functional relationship between indoor and outdoor living.
